Harry Cook es un joven actor australiano, escritor y activista LGBTIQ que nació en Croydon, al sur de Londres. Cook, muy conocido en Australia, cuenta con diferentes premios, como el de "Mejor Actor de Reparto" en el prestigioso FilmOut San Diego Film Festival, entre muchos otros. Una larga carrera sembrada de éxitos, junto a su carisma y simpatía le han llevado a convertirse en una gran promesa en el mundo del cine. Por ello y por muchas otras razones, Pasarela de Asfalto no podía pasar la oportunidad de entrevistarlo y conocer más sobre él:
1. P. ¿Podrías contarnos tu trayectoria como actor? Eres muy joven, ¿cuándo la comenzaste y cómo fue al principio?
R. Empecé a trabajar profesionalmente como actor cuando tenía 16 años y obtuve mi primer papel en una película. No tengo a nadie en mi familia en la industria del entretenimiento, así que tuve que apañármelas yo mismo, lo cual fue un desafío, pero estoy contento y muy orgulloso de haber llegado donde estoy solo.
2. P. ¿Qué dirías que es lo más difícil como actor?
R. El rechazo. Nunca resulta fácil, especialmente cuando realmente amas un papel determinado.
3. P. ¿Qué representa tu trabajo para ti?
R. Estoy muy orgulloso del trabajo del que he sido parte hasta ahora y estoy muy agradecido de haber tenido las oportunidades que tuve.
4. P. ¿Tu trabajo te ha llevado alguna vez a España? ¿O alguna vez has estado en España antes por otros motivos?
R. Mis primeras vacaciones en el extranjero fueron cuando tenía 4 años y visité España con mis padres. No he vuelto desde entonces, pero me encantaría ir algún día.
5. P. España es nuestro principal lugar de trabajo, junto a Francia, ¿podrías decirnos qué representa la moda para ti?
R. La moda para mí es tener confianza en lo que sea que lleves puesto. Siento que cualquier cosa puede estar de moda si tienes la seguridad para llevarlo.
6. P. Nuestra revista se centra en el lujo, entre otras cosas, entonces, ¿cómo definirías el lujo?¿Cuál es tu principal lujo?
R. Me encantan los productos para el cuidado de la piel y los perfumes. Para mí no hay nada mejor que un día de mimo en un spa.
7. P. ¿Alguna vez has trabajado en la industria de la moda? ¿Estarías abierto a esto ahora?
R. He hecho un poco de modelo, pero no tanto en la industria de la moda. Aunque me encantaría trabajar más en esta industria.
8. P. ¿Cuál dirías que es tu diseñador favorito? ¿De dónde obtienes normalmente tus looks? ¿Preparas tus propios conjuntos o recibes la ayuda de los estilistas?
R. Tengo muchos diseñadores favoritos. Por lo general, elijo mis looks yo mismo o con la ayuda de un estilista, pero la mayoría de las veces encuentro mis propias piezas. Me encanta escuchar sobre nuevos diseñadores, me gusta especialmente usar prendas de diseñadores desconocidos que están en pleno desarrollo.
9. P. ¿Qué opinas sobre la "Moda Española"? ¿Cuál dirías que es el mejor diseñador de España, desde una perspectiva histórica?
R. ME ENCANTA la moda española y soy un gran admirador de Balenciaga.
10. P. ¿Qué piensas de nuestra revista? Aunque está en español y probablemente no comprendas el contenido, ¿qué te inspiró cuando la tocaste, miraste sus imágenes y oliste?
R. ¡Amo la revista, es tan increíble y elegante! Es un honor ser entrevistado por ella.
Harry Cook is a young australian actor, writer and LGBT activist who was born in Croydon, south London. Cook, well known in Australia, has different awards, such as "Best Supporting Actor" at the prestigious San Diego Film FilmOut, among many others. A long career sown with successes, along with his charisma and sympathy have led him to become a great promise in the world of cinema. For this reason and for many other reasons, Pasarela de Asfalto could not pass the opportunity to interview him and learn more about him:
1. Q. Could you please let us know about your costume as an actor? You are really young, when did you start it and how was it at the beginning?
A. I started working professionally as an actor when I was 16 and landed my first movie role. I do not have anybody in my family in the entertainment industry so I had to figure it out I was glad, because I am extremely proud to have got there I am on my own.
2. Q. What would you say that is the most difficult thing as an actor?
A. The rejection. It never gets easier. Especially when you really love a role.
3. Q. What does your work represent for you?
A. I am extremely proud of the work I've been a part of so far and so grateful to have had the opportunities that I've had.
4. Q. Has your work ever taken you to Spain? Or have you ever been in Spain before for other reasons?
A. My first holiday abroad ever was when I was 4 years old and I visited Spain with my parents. I have not been back since but would love to visit someday.
5. Q. Spain is our main fashion - workplace, next to France, so could you please let us know what does it represent fashion for you?
A. Fashion to me is being confident in whatever you wear. I feel like anything can be fashionable if you have the confidence to pull it off.
6. Q. Our magazine is focused on luxury, among other things, so how would you define luxury? What is you main luxury?
A. I love cologne and skin care products. Nothing beats a pamper day at a spa.
7. Q. Have you ever worked in the fashion industry? Would you be open to this right now?
A. I have done a bit of modeling but not so much in the fashion industry. I would LOVE to work more in the fashion industry though.
8. Q. What would you say that is your favorite designer? Where do you usually get your outfits? Do you prepare your own outfits or do you get the help of the stylists?
A. I have many favorite designers and my outfits I usually pick myself or with the help of a stylist. More often than not I find my own pieces, but I love hearing about new designers. I especially like wearing undiscovered designers who are up and coming.
9. Q. What do you think about "Spanish Fashion"? What would you say that is the best designer from Spain for you from an historical view?
A. I LOVE Spanish fashion and I'm a huge fan of Balenciaga.
10. Q. What do you think about our magazine? Although it is in Spanish and you probably will not understand the content, what did it inspire for you when you touched it, looked at its pictures and smelled it?
A. I love the magazine. It is so awesome and stylish. It's an honor to be interviewed for it.
